And Sew We Grow is a nurturing & inspiring place for kids & teens to explore the joys of sewing. It's a warm & comfortable home-based setting that focuses on connection & creation. We value giving students agency in their learning by providing them opportunities to choose their own projects. From garment-making to quilting to making stuffed animals to accessories of all kinds, And Sew We Grow gives kids free-range to explore all the various things one can make. We honor mistakes and celebrate accomplishments no matter the size while having so much fun! Kids from age 9 to 16 leave camp with feelings of accomplishment and excitement for continuing on with their creativity.

Embrace the cottagecore aesthetic! Create a charming pinafore, vintage-inspired nightgown or dress, plus other delightful projects perfect for a countryside lifestyle.
Sewing machines and materials are provided. I will work with you to design and plan the perfect projects for the event.

For over 25 years Meliss has been working with children in educational and therapeutic settings, as an art teacher and art therapist respectively. She has taught in both public and private schools as well as 13 years as a homeschool mother. She has been sewing since she was big enough to reach the foot pedal of her mother's sewing machine. She believes sewing is an important skill that rewards perseverance and builds self-confidence. She spends her free time sewing, painting, and loving her family.
