At And Sew We Grow, we create a nurturing environment where children can develop self-confidence and patience through hands-on learning. By slowing down and working mindfully, our programs restore a sense of well-being and joy. As students cultivate discipline and perseverance, our projects emphasize the importance of following instructions, which in turn strengthens their mathematical, reading, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Recognizing that each child has unique gifts, we foster individuality and self-expression throughout our curriculum.

Sign up now for 2025 Summer Camps!

Summer camp at And Sew We Grow is a 5-day immersive experience focused on sewing and creating wonderful things with fabric and thread in my comfortable home in Oakland, California. This is a small gathering of attendants so that deep and meaningful connections can be made.

Each camp has a theme and specific planned projects. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Friday. A waiver must be signed before camp begins. Each camper brings their own lunch and water bottle.

Last year's summer camp was such a smashing success that the campers have begged me to continue with the Luna Lapin series. I am offering 2 different weeks in June. We will be making Luna Lapin's friend who is a sweet mouse.

If you have ever wanted to make an heirloom doll and accompanying wardrobe then you have found the right place! We will be using the books of Sarah Peel for inspiration. This camp will teach you how to construct a stuffed animal using scrumptious wool felt and gorgeous Liberty of London cotton. Her wardrobe includes dresses, knickers, and bloomers all using lovely and sometimes vintage natural textiles. Basic skills for machine sewing and hand sewing are required. $650 + $75 materials fee
